Tennessee Vols To Host NCAA Regional
Even though the Tennessee Vols baseball team bowed out of the SEC Tournament in the semi-finals on Saturday, the Vols found out on Sunday night they would host an NCAA Tournament Regional. On Monday, they found out who they be hosting.
Tennessee is a 14 seed in the tournament and is the number one seed in the regional. The teams in the Knoxville Regional in addition to the Vols are Cinicinnati, Wake Forest and Miami (OH), who will be the Vols first opponent on Friday. The Knoxville regional is being paired with the Fayetteville Regional being hosted by Arkansas. The winners of the two regionals will play in the Super Regional in the first weekend of June, with the winner of the Super Regional moving onto Omaha and the College World Series.
The Tennessee Lady Vols begin their quest for the Women’s College World Series title on Thursday. They play Oklahoma on Thursday in Oklahoma City. That game is slated for 2:30pm and will be televised on ESPN.
