Two Lady Vols Selected In WNBA Draft
Two former Tennessee Lady Vols are heading to the WNBA. Last night, the WNBA held their 2026 draft and in the second round with the 29th overall pick, the Las Vegas Aces chose forward Janiah Barker. Two picks later with the first pick in the third round and 31st overall, the Dallas Wings chose forward Zee Spearman.
Barker had a great career as a Lady Vol and finished her career averaging 11.2 points per game and shooting 46.8%. She led The Lady Vols in rebounds this past year with 179.
Spearman averaged 8.5 points per game in her career at Tennessee, but it was her defense that was a huge plus, as she led the Lady Vols in locked shots with 38. She also had 25 steals this past season.
With Barker and Spearman being drafted by the WNBA, that brings the total of former Lady Vols to be drafted into the league to 46. The WNBA began play in 1997.
