Early Voting Opens Today

Early voting begins today for the May 5th County Primary election. Registered voters can cast their ballot early at the Cocke County Election Commission office located in the Western Plaza in Newport. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. through 12 Noon. Early Voting is open until Thursday, April 30. Hours will be extended that day from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. You do not need to show your Voter registration Card, but A valid photo ID is required to cast your vote.

Just a reminder, no campaign materials like shirts or candidate pins are allowed within 100 feet of the polling place.

If you do not vote early, you will have to cast your ballot on election day, May 5 at your assigned polling place. Polls will be open on election day from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

This is the republican and democrat primary to decide who will be on the General Election ballot in August.
