Structure Fire Possible Arson

A structure fire is being investigated as a possible case of arson. The fire was at a home on Anise Way Sunday. Elbert Allison told the Cocke County Sheriff’s office that he was in the process of buying the property from John Redman. Allison stated that he was on site cleaning up when he noticed smoke coming from the house on the property. He went inside and found a pile of clothes in the corner of the room on fire. Allison tole the sheriff’s office that he called Redman and 911. By the time Redman arrived, the house was completely engulfed in flames. Redman stated that power has not been turned on in that house for 10 years. The fire is under investigation as a suspect had made the comment that no one would move into the home as “I’ll burn them out”. No arrest has been made yet in this case.
