Turkey Sandwich Leads To Arrest

A turkey sandwich led to the arrest of a woman Tuesday night in Newport. Police were called to a melee in Brock’s Market. Larisa Toel who was inside the store yelling at employees. Toel, who was detained stated that she got into an altercation with Brock’s employees over a turkey sandwich…she wanted a refund because the sandwich was made incorrectly. Toel did state she grabbed the tip jar as an analogy for theft but did not intend to take the money. An employee told police that Toel came in belligerent and cussing at employees. The employee went on to say that Toel indeed grabbed the tip jar and looked as if if she would use it for a weapon. That is when the employee intervened to prevent Toel from either using the jar as a weapon or stealing the money inside. Other employees and witnesses confirmed that version of events. Larisa Toel was arrested for disorderly conduct and ordered to stay away from Brock’s Market. The turkey sandwich….the catalyst for this story….nothing further is known as to its whereabouts.
