Jefferson County Man In Jail For Killing HIs Mother

A Jefferson County man is in jail this morning after admitting to killing his mother. Just after 1:30 am Monday morning, a call came into E-911 from a man who said he had shot his own mother. When law enforcement arrived at the home in the 3000 block of Hardy Road, they found 26 year old Anthony Hicks sitting on the front porch. In a car in the driveway was his 48 year old mother Christa Tipton Hicks…dead of a gunshot. Police arrested Hicks and charged him with first degree murder. No further details on that homicide regarding a motive or the events leading up to the killing have been released. The TBI and the White Pine Police Department aided the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office in that investigation. Anthony Hucks is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center.
