Nashville Makes Bid To Host RNC In 2024

Could Tennessee host a major political party convention in 2024? If Governor Bill Lee gets his way, Nashville could. The Governor has asked the City of Nashville to submit a proposal to host the Republican National Convention in 2024. Both Republicans and Democrats are supporting the opportunity to showcase the state of Tennessee. The city of Nashville says they have submitted host applications for both the Democrat and Republican conventions for 2024. The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation says their primary role is to book convention business for Nashville without bias. If awarded one of the presidential conventions…50,000 people could descend on downtown Nashville. It would be the first time a major political party has held a nominating convention in Nashville. The Republican National Convention will meet next summer to decide on a location for their national convention in the summer of 2024.
