Two Drug Arrests On Wilton Springs Road
Cocke County police made a traffic stop that turned into a drug arrest on Wednesday. Wednesday morning, deputy Jacob Damron pulled over a car traveling on Wilton Springs Road…Highway 73. The front seat passenger in that vehicle was 41 year old Amanda Fain of Newport. She had active warrants against her. Fain was taken into custody. After getting to the jail, when Fain was taken out of the car, the deputy noticed the back seat cushion had been seperated from the back of the seat. When asked why that had occured, Fain had no response. Deputy Damron lifted up the seat cushion where Fain had been seated and found 4 baggies of methamphetamine total weight of 1.3 grams…and another small baggie containing 1 gram of heroin. Amanda Fain was booked on her outstanding warrants and also for schedule I & II narcotics possession.
While on the way to assist Deputy Damron with Amanda Fain, Deputy Ethan Keys noticed a dark Green Subaru on Wilton Springs Road swerving across the roadway. Keys made a traffic stop and found 39 year old Rebekkah Holmes at the wheel. She told Keys she swerved because she had something in her eye. A check on Holmes revealed her drivers license revoked due to DUI. Holmes told the deputy there was nothing illegal in her car and consented to a search. Deputy Keys found a box with a bag hanging out of the corner…when asked of its contents, Holmes simply said, “Bad stuff”. Inside the box was some bad stuff…nearly 25 grams of methamphetamine. Holmes now faces schedule II possession charges.
