Stolen Truck Found In Greeneville

Newport police responded to Wild Child Performance Pro in the Eastern Shopping Plaza Center Monday afternoon about a stolen vehicle. Employee Dewayne Evans stated at 4pm Monday his truck was parked out in back of the store, but 30 minutes later, it was gone…that included parts in the back of the truck valued at $681. Evans stated he had left the keys in the truck. Later Monday evening a truck matching the stolen one surfaced in a hit and run accident in Greeneville. The truck was found at a car wash on Erwin Highway. It had been spray painted on one side. A female identified as Hailey Messer was in custody of the truck…she admitted she had taken the truck from Newport. Messer was transported ti the Greene County jail on charges of vehicle theft and larceny.
