Covid Remains Reason To Vote By Mail
The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office says that Covid-19 susceptibility will remain as an eligibility to get a mail-in ballot for the November 8th election. That eligibility was started in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to keep those who could easily catch the virus safe from having to go to a polling site around other people. First-time voters in Tennessee do need to appear in person to vote or show ID at the local election office before voting by mail, if they qualify. The deadline to submit an application to vote by mail is Nov. 1. Completed absentee ballots must be mailed in time for the county election commission to receive it no later than the close of polls on Election Day.
