Woman Charged with Possession

The Cocke County Sheriff’s department responded to the Dollar General in Cosby just north of the post office Monday. Customers had been coming into the store reporting there was a woman sitting outside the store talking to people who weren’t there. 34 year old Lisa James was found sitting in front of the store with one shoe and sock removed. She told a deputy she had been at the Dollar General for about an hour and that she had walked there from her residence on Old Newport Highway in Sevierville. When asked about speaking with people who were not there, she stated she was talking to someone on her cell phone. A small bag of heroin was found in her purse and James was charged with possession of schedule I.
