Vols Survive First Round NCAA Action

The Vols are moving on. Tennessee won their first round game last night in the NCAA Tournament against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. Tennessee turned the ball over a dozen times in the first half, but Louisiana could not take advantage and UT led 30-19 at the half. Tennessee led by as many as 18 in the second half before Louisiana made things close. The Ragin’ Cajuns got to within three but the Vols held them off and escape a first round scare 58-55. Tyeke Key led the Vols in scoring with 12. Tennessee advances to play Duke who defeated Oral Roberts 74-51. The fifth seeded Blue Devils will tip off against 4th seed Tennessee Saturday afternoon at 2:40.
