Crossing Guard Struck by Car

A crossing guard was struck by a car in Hamblen County Wednesday afternoon in what is being called a hit and run. The Morristown Police department says that the crossing guard was working the school zone in front of Witt Elementary School…which is on US 25E about a mile north of Interstate 81. Police say the vehicle struck the crossing guard then fled from the scene. The crossing guard suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released. Police are currently searching for the driver of that vehicle.
