Expect To Pay More For Your Christmas Tree
This week many people will be putting up their Christmas tree as Friday marks the official start of the Christmas season. If you are looking for a real tree to put up…that could be a problem. Experts say that there is a shortage of trees this year because there weren’t enough trees planted 10 years ago to keep up with demand. If you do find a real tree you will probably pay more. Many lots have trees shipped in from Canada or other states like Michigan and Oregon. With the cost of fuel rising substantially, transportation costs to get those trees here are much higher, resulting in higher prices. How much higher…one expert says that a tree that cost you $50 last year could cost you on average $75 this year….an increase of 50% price wise. Might be time to look into an artificial tree…demand for those is up, so you will probably pay more for those as well.
