Fatal Fire In Jefferson County

A man is dead after being killed in a house fire Saturday in Jefferson County. New Market Fire Rescue was dispatched to a home on state route 92 In Jefferson City late Saturday night to a report of a residential structure fire. Upon their arrival they found the home fully engulfed, and a female standing in the driveway stating her husband was still inside. At about 1:45 Sunday morning, firefighters located a body inside the residence. The victim was transported to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for identification . The Jefferson County sheriff’s office criminal investigators along with help from arson investigators with the TBI are currently looking into the cause of that deadly fire. The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
