Gatlinburg-Pittman Girls Basketball Player Suffers Cardiac Event

Scary moments this week for the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Girl’s Basketball team. One of their players suffered a cardiac event while walking off the court during a game on Monday. Gatlinburg-Pittman was hosting a game against Union County when the girl collapsed. She was treated on scene by athletic trainers and nurses using an Automated External Defibrillator. Crews then rushed the girl to Pigeon Forge where she was then transferred to a helicopter and airlifted to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville. As of Tuesday, the girl was listed in stable condition.
