Grant Money Paying Dividends For The County

Cocke County deputies will be doing more work from their vehicles thanks to a grant. Recently the sheriff’s office was able to purchase laptops and in-car reporting systems to allow deputies to due much of their work in the vehicle rather than having to come back into the office to fill out reports and such. The deputies will be able to utilize these systems wherever they have acces to internet service.

Also grant money is providing some much needed repairs and upgrades at the Cocke County Courthouse. The courthouse restrooms are being remodeled…a new sidewalk is being installed on the north side of the courthouse, plus two offices are getting windows to provide services…there is also some much needed cleaning and maintenance that will be done over the next few months along with the construction projects. The county apologizes for any inconvenience you may encounter, but the county says it will be worth it when all is complete.
