Great Smoky Mountain Hot Air Balloon Festival Is Returning
Like most other things last year there were no hot air balloons in the Smoky Mountain Skies as the Great Smoky Mountain Hot Air Balloon Festival was cancelled due to Covid-19. But not this year…the balloons are making a comeback. The Hot Air Balloon festival will return to Townsend on August 21st. The festival is from 4-10 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the Townsend Visitors Center. Festival admission is $5. There will be lots of food, crafts and live entertainment and plenty of activity for kids. And of course, the hot air balloons which you can take a tethered balloon ride for $25. The hot air balloons will light up the sky that evening to bring the festival to a close from 8-9:30…that’s on August 21st in Townsend.
