Greeneville Woman Facing Charges Following Accident With Fatality
A Woman has been killed after being hit by a car south of Jonesborough, and a Greeneville woman is facing charges for her death. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, shortly before 5 pm Sunday, Sheri Sanders was driving a Mazda CX9 SUV southbound on Highway 81, and a Dodge 2500 truck was traveling northbound when the Mazda reportedly attempted to turn onto the 81 Loop and right into the path of the truck. The Mazda hit the tuck and then continued traveling into the Crossroads store parking lot, where is hit a Harley Davidson motorcycle then struck a woman from Burnsville, NC identified as Monica Burns. Shew was trapped under the SUV and was killed. Also injured in the crash was another pedestrian near the motorcycle, identified as Scottie Vance, of Burnsville, NC; a juvenile passenger in the Mazda SUV; a passenger in the Dodge Truck and Sheri Sanders herself were injured as well.
