Macie Reed Named Damage Assessment Coordinator.
Cocke County Deputy Property Assessor, Macie Reed has a new job…she has been appointed to be Cocke County’s new Damage Assessment Coordinator…that announcement being made on Tuesday by Cocke County Emergency Management Director Joe Esway. Reed’s duties in this new post will be to supervise and direct a team of volunteers that are versed and skilled in property value, real estate, insurance, and construction. Those volunteers will be deployed immediately following disasters within Cocke County…such as tornadoes, or floods. She and her team will photograph damages, meet with private property and business owners to review the damages, and submit to the state a report for the area to be considered for various State and Federal relief programs.
Those team members led by Macie Reed will be identified by reflective vests and ID cards that bear the logo of The Emergency Management Agency. Director Esway says the Emergency Management agency in Cocke County is looking into developing a mechanism for reporting damage directly to Reed so that her team can be deployed swiftly after a disaster strikes.
