Man Who Shot At Sevier County Deputy Indicted

Investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have indicted a Sevier County resident in connection to an officer-involved shooting in July. You might recall this case where Deputies with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic disturbance call on Robeson Road in Wears Valley on July 13th…and upon arrival they were confronted by a man with gun. 52-year-old, Lee Rakun…a former San Antonio Texas police lieutenant was armed with a gun and shot a deputy. The deputy shot back and both were transported to a local hospital. Rakun has been charged with one count of attempted first degree murder and one count of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
