Morristown Man Wanted After Attacking Girlfriend

A man is wanted in Morristown after attacking his girlfriend in their home. 20 year old Marissa Sims told police that she and her boyfriend, 23 year old Matthew Becerra were arguing and that he was strangling her with his hands restricting her airway to where she was in fear for her life. He then dragged her through the living room and slammed her onto the kitchen floor continuing strangle her. She stated he stepped on her chest holding her to the ground and he kept telling her he was going to kill her. Sims, who had a busted lip and possible internal injuries, was able to get up and grab a pair of scissors for self defense, in fact she was able to stab at him leaving a little blood on the scissors, which detectives took into evidence. Becerra fled in a dark blue Chrysler before police arrived. A warrant for aggravated assault has been issued for his arrest.
