Parkway Reopens In Gatlinburg…Fire Under Investigation
The Parkway is back open in Gatlinburg after being closed for a day and a half due to a fire in downtown Gatlinburg. Four businesses were affected by the fire including Puckers Sports Bar which was completely destroyed. Fire officials also announced on Monday that while working that blaze on Sunday, a body was found in the rubble of the fire. That person’s identity has not been released and the cause of death is under investigation.
That fire broke out around 6:30 Sunday morning and fire crews were still battling hot spots early Monday morning. The Parkway was closed all day Sunday and finally was reopened to traffic around 2pm Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gatlinburg Police Department and Fire Department along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
