Police Seek Help In Finding Burglary Suspect

The Cocke County Sheriff’s department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a thief. According to the Sheriff’s office, on Saturday, December 17th, several vehicles were broken into at a church in Newport. The suspect then used debit cards that were stolen to make purchases of over $3,000 in fraudulent purchases in Jefferson City and Knoxville. Police say the suspect is a young adult black male with an athletic build. He was seen wearing a black mask and was seen in a white 2015 or newer Dodge Charger.
