Rescue Workers Search For Man Who Disappeared On Cherokee Lake
Hamblen County and Hawkins County rescue teams have suspended the search for a man who disappeared off a raft on Cherokee lake. Witnesses told rescue workers they saw a man in the water on an inflatable blue raft. Later, they saw the raft floating in the water but the man was no longer on it. That set off a water rescue operation to find the man. He is described as being a white male with gray hair appearing to be in his late 50s. Crews suspended the search at midnight last night while they tried to gather more information. The Morristown Emergency and Rescue Squad, the TWRA, Hawkins County EMS, and the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office all were taking part in that search.
