Tik-Tok Ban Passes State Senate
A law has passed the Tennessee State Senate which bans the app TikTok from being offered on state university Wi-Fi networks. Tik-Tok is one of the most popular apps, especially among the younger set. However the app is from China and is believed to be a spy mechanism for the Chinese government on not just the United States but other countries as well. Critics say that students on campus can just log off the university’s Wi-Fi network and sign on to another to be able to access the Tik-Tok app on their device. State Representative Jeremy Faison has introduced the bill in the house. It is in subcommittee this week. That bill needs to pass through the full house then be signed by Governor Bill Lee before it can become law.
