16 Year Old Double Homicide Suspect Appears In Court
The 16 year old accused of a double homicide in Greene County will remain in custody. The juvenile appeared in court Thursday afternoon where a judge heard evidence and heard from four witnesses. The judge then found probable cause that the teen had committed the crime and will remain in juvenile detention for now. The district attorney’s office says that the 16 year old has now officially been charged with first degree murder. The district attorney’s office has also petitioned that the case be transferred to adult court as they say the crime was premeditated and done with intention. District Attorney General Dan Armstrong says earlier in the day on April 24th the juvenile began planning to kill 59 year old Sherry Cole and 7 year old Joshua Allen. Their bodies were found shortly after midnight on April 25th. They were killed with a blunt object. A bloody hammer was found at the scene. A status hearing is set for July 19th and the juvenile will next appear in court on August 23rd for a transfer hearing. That is when the case could be transferred to adult court.
