How You Can Volunteer

County officials are needing volunteers as we Cocke County continues to recover. If you are intereseted in volunteering, you can got to the website https://newportcockecountychamber.com/. At that site, a window will pop up giving you a “click here” button to click on to take you to the “Mountain Tough” website. There, you can click on a link for volunteers. You will find a page there where you can sign up to volunteer. So many have already volunteered already, but they can still use the help. Things you will be doing:

Debris clean up

Tree/limb removal

Receive, distribute and organize donated goods

You must have your own transportation. Assignments/directions will be given when you check-in at the Volunteer Reception Center located at Wonderfully Made Coffee & More – 2591 Cosby Highway, Newport, TN.

If you sign up to volunteer, make sure you dress in long pants and sturdy boots or shoes. Bring masks, work gloves, or protective eyewear with you. No children under the age of 12 are allowed, children ages 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
