Man Arrested For Possession

A man was arrested over the weekend at Wal-Mart in Newport after people called police saying he was beating on cars in the parking lot. Police found 33 year old Jackie Clevenger, standing in the Walmart access road in front of vehicles that were attempting to leave the parking lot. Clevenger took the officer to his own vehicle where several packages of suboxone were scattered on the driver seat and the driver side floorboard. A search of the vehicle turned up 48 grams of marijuana, 20 suspected morphine pills, a digital scale, and several baggies that are commonly used in narcotics sales. Clevenger was taken into custody charged with possession of narcotics. He was also found to be wanted in Hamblen County.
