Shop With A Cop Lands In Cocke County

Tuesday night, local law enforcement in Cocke County celebrated Christmas by taking some local kids shopping. It was “Shop With A Cop” Tuesday at Wal-Mart in Newport. The Newport Police Department and the Cocke County Sheriff’s department took numerous local children shopping for Christmas. The Shoop With A Cop program is designed to help local children in need shop for Christmas for their family members and maybe even something for themselves. The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security donated funds to help with the program in Cocke County.

While this is a program that has taken place for several years in Sevier County, this was the first year for the Shop With A Cop program in Cocke County…and it came at a good time considering the events that have unfolded since late September.
