NBA Star Stephen Curry’s Documentary To Be Screened In Newport
A documentary produced by 4 time NBA champion Stephen Curry will be screened here in Newport next month. The Cocke County Cradle to Career Coalition and First United Methodist Church of Newport will present a free viewing of the powerful documentary “Sentenced”. The film powerful film deals with the illiteracy crisis that is in America and Curry’s documentary also delves into practical ways to help individuals and communities improve, as illiteracy affects millions of lives. Those affected find limited opportunities and most are sentenced to a life of perpetual poverty.
The screening of “Sentenced” in Newport will be on Sunday, February 16 at the First United Methodist Church of Newport, which is at 212 Washington Ave. The event starts at 5:30 with a complimentary dinner being served followed by the film screening beginning at 6.
