Fire Crews Respond To House Fire
Firefighters responded to a house fire in Parrottsville on Friday. A brick home on North Hwy 340 was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. The Parrottsville Fire Department and Cocke County Fire Departments concluded that the fire started in the basement of the home due to a wood stove. The home’s owner was not at the residence at the time of the fire, but stated their dog that was trapped in the home and perished in the fire. Early Saturday morning, fire crews were called back to the scene due to another fire at the same home. Firefighters believe the fire reignited due to excess fire being trapped within the bricks of the home. Fire officials say they do not suspect arson in that blaze. The home was valued at $300,000
