Rep. Faison Presents Helene Assistance Bill
State Representative Jeremy Faison appeared in front of a special committee at the state capitol on Tuesday. Faison addressed the Disaster Relief Committee about his bill that would give property tax relief to those whose properties were damaged or destroyed in the flood caused by Tropical Storm Helene. Faison, who worked with the Tennessee Comptroller on the bill, says it is very simple. Those who were affected in the flood would have their property taxes for the year 2024 refunded to them via a grant process. 22 of the 26 members of the committee voted in favor of Faison’s bill, which now heads to the House Ways and Means Committee.
