Salvation Army To Hand Out Disaster Gift Cards This Week

For Cocke County residents that have been affected by the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Helene, the Salvation Army will be in Newport later this week with assistance. On Thursday and Friday, the Salvation Army will be giving out disaster gift cards. You will need identification and proof of address and proof of income. The Salvation Army will be handing out these gift cards at 375 Alex Street in Newport. Times are Thursday from 1-3pm and Friday morning from 9:15-11:30. You must make an appointment by calling 865-908-4010. The Salvation Army points out that appointments are limited, so you need to call and make your appointment as soon as possible.
