Follow The Yellow Brick Road With The Newport Theatre Guild

Next weekend, the Newport Theatre Guild will be heading to the Land of Oz, and are inviting you to follow the yellow brick road and join them for a presentation of “The Wizard Of Oz”. L. Frank Baum’s magical story will come to life at the Cocke County High School auditorium for two weekends in a row as the Threatre Guild celebrates the resiliance of Cocke County in recovering from the recent flooding disaster. The Newport Dance and Cheer Academy was damaged in the flood, so a portion of the proceeds will go to the Newport Dance and Cheer Academy, with the rest covering the cost of the production.

Dates for the “Wizard Of Oz” are Friday through Sunday, March 7-9 and the following weekend, March 14-16. Tickets are available on a “pay what you wish” basis and can be purchased in advance by going to the website www.newporttheatreguild.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.
