Free Fishing In Tennessee
Grab your fishing pole…let’s head out to the fishing hole…this Saturday is Free Fishing Day in the state of Tennessee. All residents regardless of age do not need a license to go fishing on any of the state’s public waters Saturday. Now, if you can’t get out and fish Saturday, keep in mind that anyone age 15 and younger can still fish for free through June 18th…which gives you most of next week to take the kids fishing. The state of Tennessee does a free fishing day every year to promote the sport of fishing on Tennessee’s waters. Outdoor Resorts at Gatlinburg is having a kids fishing tournament on Saturday…for ages 1-16…registration starts at 9:30am.
Also don’t forget that it is during free fishing day this Saturday that a marina in the tri-cities is releasing a tagged smallmouth bass into South Holston Lake. Anyone who catches that fish between the hours of 12:01am on Saturday and 11:59pm Sunday night wins themselves $100,000.
