If you are having trouble affording your internet service, there is a program that you may be eligible for that can help you out. The FCC’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program may be of assistance to you as it uses Covid-19 relief funds to provide a $50 discount on your home internet bill. To be able to qualify for this assistance, you have to meet one of the following criteria…receive SNAP benefits…or food stamps…have an income that is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines, or have experienced a substantial loss of income since March of 2020. This program will continue till 6 months after the US Department of Health and Human Services declares the Covid-19 pandemic over…or until the program runs out of money…whichever comes first.
