Pigeon Forge Subway Robber Facing More Charges
The man who attempted to rob the Subway in Pigeon Forge last week is now facing more charges including aggravated assault and sexual battery.
Pigeon Forge police say that Krayle Wheeler entered the Subway and forced a female employee to the back door by gunpoint and then groped her…when a mother with two children entered the Subway, Wheeler pointed his gun at them….they fled from the store along with the female employee who escaped Wheeler’s grasp. Wheeler then fired shots at the front of the store in the direction of Wears Valley Road endangering the public. Police apprehended him behind the Subway without incident.
Wheeler now faces a long list of charges including especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery, four counts of aggravated assault, felony vandalism, reckless endangerment and introduction of contraband into a penal institution…that last charge due to a bag found in his groin area during a search of him at the jail. Wheeler admitted that the substance in the bag was meth. Subway has estimated the damage to their location to be in the $1,000 area.
