Tennessee’s First Time Voter Law Reinstated

A US Circuit Court of Appeals in Nashville has overturned a lower courts ruling last September that blocked the state’s provision that first time voters’ vote in person. In a 2-1 decision Tuesday, judges re-instated Tennessee’s law requiring that all first-time voters cast their vote in person. The court said in their ruling that there is not a “reasonble expectation” that voters will face the same kind of burden they did in the fall of 2020 election”.

That Tennessee law requires first-time voters in the state to cast their ballot in person or show ID at the local election office before they could vote by mail…if the qualified to vote by mail.
