Morristown Business Broken Into Tuesday Morning
Morristown police were dispatched early Tuesday morning regarding a front door alarm at 308 McCrary Drive…the address for Hillbilly’s Cabin. When officers arrived the three front entry doors on the West side of the building had been shattered. Officers checked the building for any suspects but there were none….but officers noticed that it appeared the cash register had been unplugged and taken from the store. The store’s owner Stacey Stipes confirmed the register had been stolen, and that it contained $8.63 inside, the value of the register itself was $200.00. Mr. Stipes also noted that the three front entry doors were valued at $550.00 apiece. The store has multiple cameras inside, but Stipes said he has lost his password to access the camera footage but had an employee with access to the cameras.
Officers noticed a camera outside of Krystal’s on west Andrew Johnson Highway facing Hillbilly’s Cabin that may have possible footage of a suspect. Police were going to look into accessing that footage. Due to the lack of a suspect, no arrests have been made.
