Cocke County Budget Meeting Feb 7

The Cocke County Budget Committee will be meeting next Monday, February 7 at 4pm in the Chancery Courtroom. Numerous items will be on that agenda including an update on the county use of ARPA funds…those are the funds the county received from the American Rescue Plan Act. One of the other items to be discussed will be a budget funds transfer request from the sheriff’s department. The sheriff’s department is wanting to transfer funds designated for certain line items to help pay for 18 new ballistic vests for officers, plus the cost for ammunition has skyrocketed and the sheriff’s department is needing to transfer funds from several budget items with the department to help pay for the increased cost. The department’s price for ammo went up $50 a case in January.
