Roberta Webb-Allen Officially Pleads Guilty
A former Sevier County deputy county clerk has officially plead guilty to her role in a scheme to license and title stolen vehicles coming into Tennessee. Roberta Webb-Allen formally pled guilty Monday to a conspiracy charge in federal court in exchange for having her other charges dropped. U.S. Attorney’s say Roberta Webb-Allen accepted money from a man named Juan Lopez Gallardo in exchange for “official acts.” She and Brandy Thorton, another deputy clerk, were arrested in October 2021 on several charges. Sentencing for Allen is set for August 23rd…she faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Thornton’s trial date has not been announced.
