Police Respond To Unconscious Person
Police were called to the new Love’s Travel Center on West Hwy 25/70 Tuesday afternoon abut an unconscious person in a vehicle. Police found a man identified as 47 year old James Hinson staggering around a pick-up truck. Witnesses told Officer Lindsay Laughter that they observed Hinson traveling eastbound on 25/70 when his truck left the roadway, drove over a ditch, became airborne and landed in the grassy area in front of the travel center. Hinson was carrying his jacket which he was instructed to drop. When he did, several open needles fell to the ground. Hinson continued to fall asleep during field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and had to be helped into the jail due to his intoxicated state. Besides DUI he was also charged with failure to exercise due care, driving on a revoked license and no insurance.
