Sunday Morning Crash Injures 4
Four people were seriously injured after a car accident on US 25E in Morristown early Sunday morning. Police say that a Toyota Tacoma ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 25E and Progress Parkway…that’s just north of I-81…the Toyota struck a Chevy Colorado pickup in that intersection at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The Toyota veered left after the impact and came to rest on its side in the median in front of Weigel’s, while the Chevy came to rest in the center of the northbound lanes with the driver of that pickup trapped. He was the only one in that vehicle…three people were in the Toyota Tacoma that ran the red light causing the accident. Three Lifestar helicopters were brought in from Knoxville along with a Medflight chopper from Johnson City. Two people in the Toyota were flown to UT Medical Center , and the third from that vehicle was taken by ground. After being extricated, the man in the Chevy Colorado was transported to Johnson City by Medflight.
