Man Arrested In Connection With Pontoon Thefts
A Sevier County man has been arrested in connection with the theft of pontoon boats from marina’s in Sevier and Jefferson County. 22 year old Trey Cook of Sevierville was arrested last week after a joint investigation between Sevier County and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Units. Both law enforcement agencies received repots of pontoon boat thefts from Marinas on Douglas Lake in both counties. Both stolen boats were recovered by Detectives after being stripped down by the suspect. Cook was also charges in Jefferson County with multiple thefts of marine equipment from boats at a marina there. He was booked into Sevier County Jail on charges of Theft over $10,000.00 and then transferred to Jefferson County to be booked on multiple charges there. Both Sevier and Jefferson County Sheriff’s office say that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests expected.
