Police Called To Brock’s Market

Police in Newport were dispatched to Brock’s Market on East Broadway early Sunday morning…two people were sitting in a truck with the windows down in 30 degree weather. Officers arrived and found a woman asleep in the drivers seat…a man asleep in the passenger seat…and a 7 year old child in the backseat wearing just a t-shirt with no jacket. That child told police that 38 year old Monica Busler in the drivers’ seat was his mother and she had pulled into Brock’s parking lot after almost hitting a utility pole. The male in the passenger seat was 39 year old Bobby Burgin. Both adults in the vehicle were highly intoxicated and a Sig Sauer P320 handgun was located in the truck which Bobby Burgin claimed ownership of. Both Burgin and Busler were transported to jail. While undergoing a search at the jail, a hypodermic needle and arm tie-off were found in Monica Busler’s bra. She has now been charged with introduction of a controlled substance into a penal facility.
