Rain Tames Maggie Valley Fire
The wildfire that was burning in Maggie Valley is now 100% contained. That is thanks to mother nature. Some welcomed rainfall helped firefighters take that fire from 30% containment to 100% containment on Tuesday afternoon. Crews had been battling that wildfire for 24 hours straight along with helicopter crews dousing the flames from the skies. By the time the rain was over Tuesday afternoon, things changed dramatically as the rain helped firefighters tame that blaze. No structures were damaged in that fire. The residents of the 17 homes that were evacuated have all been allowed to return to their homes.
