Sevier Co. Wildfires Extinguished
The Sevier County Wildfires are now out. Those fired consumed nearly 3500 acres with the Hatcher Mountain wildfire claiming 219 structures. County officials are still surveying the damage. Governor Bill Lee toured the area on Friday and with Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters vowed to help rebuild that area. The county is hoping to get federal funds to assist in that endeavor as well as getting help from the state. Donations are no longer needed at the Sevier County Fairgrounds. The group Mountain Tough says they are maxed out as far as donations. However, monetary donations are still being accepted at all Citizens National Bank locations. Checks need to be made out to Mountain Tough.
