Cocke County Police Arrest 2, 1 Wanted in Sevier County

Cocke county police arrested two individuals over the weekend one of which was wanted out of Sevier County. Their car was pulled over on Hwy 321 for going 70 in a 55. The vehicle smelled of marijuana and a bag containing 7 grams of the green leafy substance found. Deputies also found a baggie containing 3.9 grams of methamphetamine where the passenger was sitting. The driver, Nathaniel Butler of Newport was arrested and charged with possession of schedule VI drugs. the passenger was Tyler Mercereau of Sevierville who was wanted in Sevier County. He was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics.
