More Drug Arrests Saturday

Saturday afternoon Cocke County police arrested three individuals on drug charges. A busted windshield led to a traffic stop on Hedrick Drive…and the suspect vehicle was pulled over in the parking lot of Debbie’s drive in. The two passengers in the rear of the vehicle began acting suspiciously and the front seat passenger seemed to try to divert the deputies’ attention. While the deputy was checking on the vehicles occupants with dispatch, one of the backseat passengers…Amanda Pope of Kodak got out of the vehicle and took off running. She was caught after a short foot chase…she had two outstanding warrants for her arrest and also told deputies she did not want to be blamed for what was in the child seat. The front passenger Jessica Troxell of Newport exited the vehicle and threw a baggie in the trash at the same time. The baggie was retrieved by another deputy and it included 22.2 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl. Another baggie was found in the vehicle that contained 1.3 grams of meth along with drug paraphernalia. Amanda Pope, Jessica Troxwell and the other backseat passenger, Milton Stelly of Dandridge were all arrested for schedule I narcotics possession.
